Promote the international standardization of API specifications enabling the offering of value added services using carrier capabilities.
Play the leadership role of defining Next Generation Service Interfaces (NGSI) 1.0 in OMA.
Using NGSI, achieve application interconnection environments extending over NGNs, mobile networks, and intra-corporate networks.
Verify the technical and commercial values of new, NGN-based services (Open the NGN evaluation center to partners). (The NGN Evaluation Center is located in Tokyo, Japan.)
The NGN evaluation center enables the verification of NGN services in its own unique way, in terms of flexible QoS control (bandwidth and priority) and APIs common to NGN middleware, among others. We verified several services and made them open to the public as demonstrations.
NEC will promote the creation of new, NGN-based services in cooperation with partners, as well as standardization, and strive to make networks open and to capitalize on them in the future, through cooperating with carriers. Our activities in the Japanese Market are outlined below.
